The Peterborough Timbermen announced today they have traded draft picks to the Six Nations Snipers in exchange for forward Travis Bland from Georgetown.
“Travis was added to be a depth player for us,” said head coach and general manager Joe Sullivan.
The 30-year-old Bland has spent time all over the lacrosse map, most recently in Six Nations playing for the Sr. B Rivermen where he scored 52 points in 21 games through 2015 and 2016, winning the President’s Cup in 2015. Also a veteran of the MSL, Bland played several years in Brampton, Ajax, and KW before spending a summer season out west. He also suited up for four CLAX teams including Brampton, Oshawa, Durham and Barrie.
The Timbermen will practice tonight ahead of their Saturday evening matchup versus the Oshawa Outlaws at the Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa. The game is the second part of a doubleheader in which fans can pay one price for both games. Children under 13 will be admitted for free courtesy of Jack Links. Action begins at 4:00pm between the St. Catharines Shockwave and Toronto Monarchs with the Timbermen playing at 7:00pm.
