The Peterborough Timbermen’s playoffs hopes took a bit hit on Saturday with a 15-8 loss to the Toronto Monarchs at the Tribute Communities Centre in Oshawa. The loss puts the Timbermen solidly in last place with a 3-8 record with three games remaining.
Missing captain Tim Bergin, the Timbermen were without their leader and lacked direction on the floor. They took an early 3-2 lead but saw it evaporate as the more energetic Monarchs went on a four goal run in the second quarter.
Caleb Wiles led the Timbermen with three goals and two assists. Colton Armstrong and Dan Michel had two goals each. Geoff McNulty had four assists. Matt Crough, back in the lineup off the IR, had a goal in his return.
Ryan Masters and Nolan Clayton split time in goal.
Brendan Muise had six goals for the Monarchs. Steve Fryer picked up the win in goal.
The Timbermen’s next game is tomorrow at 1pm at the Peterborough Memorial Centre. They host the first-place Six Nations Snipers in the first game of an ALL double-header. Tickets are $14.55 for adults and $5 for children under 13, but if you’re a PMLA member, get in FREE wearing red or your Lakers gear!
