PETERBOROUGH – The Peterborough Timbermen made a blockbuster trade this afternoon, acquiring right-handed offensive star Vaughn Harris from the Six Nations Snipers.
Harris spent the last two season in the NLL with Buffalo and Philadelphia but with expansion in the league was unable to crack a roster this season. In his 27 games he scored 58 points (29G/29A). Peterborough lacrosse fans are familiar with Harris’ work as they see him in the summer playing with the Six Nations Chiefs of the MSL.
In exchange for Harris, the Timbermen gave up defensemen Aaron Dean and the rights to Brier Jonathan, forwards Joe Maracle and Henry Chapman and their first-round pick in 2020.
The Timbermen also sent transition player Tanner Poole to the Paris RiverWolves for an eighth-round pick after failing to come to an agreement with Poole that wouldn’t interfere with the start of the season.
The Timbermen wish all players the best of luck on their new teams.
The Timbermen’s season begins on the road on December 28 vs the Oshawa Outlaws at Children’s Arena. The 2020 home opener will take place on Saturday, January 4 at 3 p.m. against the Paris RiverWolves at Millbrook Arena. Tickets will be sold at the door for $10 for adults and $5 for children under 14. Season ticket information is forthcoming.
