The Peterborough Timbermen have acquired Mann Cup champion Taite Cattoni ahead of the 2022-23 season.
Cattoni was acquired from the Brampton Express, the Arena Lacrosse League’s newest franchise, after he was selected from the Oshawa Outlaws in this past weekend’s expansion draft. Going to Brampton in exchange for Cattoni is third-year forward Mitchell Geoffroy.
Cattoni made it into three games for the Outlaws during the 2022 season, scoring six goals and five assists. He also spent time on both the active and practice roster for the NLL’s Panther City Lacrosse Club.
He’s fresh off a Mann Cup championship with the Peterborough Lakers, and is currently playing field lacrosse with the powerhouse Trent Excalibur. Cattoni recently signed a one-year-contract with the NLL’s Albany FireWolves.
The Timbermen open their 2022-23 schedule on Friday, December 16 with an 8 p.m. game at Brampton’s Memorial Arena versus the Express. Their home opener at Millbrook Arena is a New Year’s Eve afternoon affair at 1 p.m. versus Whitby.
